Why We Only Sell Wood Shutters & Never Vinyl
We are one of a handful of companies left that still sell quality North American premium wood shutters, and we are extremely proud of it! With years and years behind us, our wood shutters speak for themselves.
In our 25 + years, Shades Shutters and More has tried almost every type of plastic/vinyl shutter on the market. Unfortunately, we found that all of these shutters had issues with warping, chipping, sagging, and yellowing over time. The heavyweight of plastic/vinyl shutters also causes sagging and splitting at the seams, especially in high heat.
That's why we have decided to sell only North American basswood shutters, which have proven to be almost 100% foolproof. Our wood shutters are kiln-dried, which eliminates 95% of all warping by pulling moisture out of the wood before manufacturing. They are also lightweight and structurally sound due to the kiln drying process, which eliminates all stress points that cause sagging and splitting.
